Political Meme Post:

So, I am not that politically inclined. I have not been for about 4 ½ years now. (That is around the time that my dad died so, that might have something to do with it. You know, the news hasn’t been on much since then since he was the one who used to watch it all of the time.) So, basically, I don’t know what is going on in the government at the moment like I used to. And all of these political memes on Facebook that spout nothing but nonsense are not helping my interest in the politics as well. They are just so dumb! But look, all I know is that I vote as a Republican, and that Donald Trump is a better choice than either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders.

Anyway, the meme that I have chosen states that Donald Trump makes up false information, and that he apparently did that while talking to Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Now when I first read this, I thought that it was another one of those “false claims” filled with misinformation that people make up and put on Facebook in order to sound smarter and to try and prove that their ways and viewpoints are superior, but as it turns out, I may have been misled with my hypothesis.

For you see, on the Washington Post website, they show us that he stated in a tweet at a fundraising event with Canada, that “We do have a Trade Deficit with Canada, as we do with almost all countries (some of them massive).” which was a total lie. They go on to say that America has a Trade Surplus with Canada, and they even show that on the website of the United States Trade Representative. Granted he admitted his mistake, and went on to openly admit it. (Though most would say that he was boasting about it). Trump said that he just assumed that there was a Trade Deficit, and that he insisted on it.

In fact, back when this was posted in 2018, the United States had a “goods and services trade surplus with Canada that was $9.1 billion”. So, it’s clear to see that Donald Trump was wrong, and that he was originally blaming Canadas Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for the problem. But you know, he handled his mistake like an adult, and he admitted where he was wrong. The funny thing is, that is what the people were more shocked by, not the fact that he got some information wrong, but by the fact that he admitted that he was actually wrong, and apologized for it.

Now as for the part of the meme that say that he is constantly making up false information there is a whole politi-facts page for that one. On that politi-facts page, they state out all of Donald Trump’s false statements, lies, and tweets, though some of them may just be him being sarcastic or joking trying to pull the leg of his peers and subordinates, let alone us and Americans. So, is United States President Donald Trump constantly up false information? Yes, yes, he is. But then again, he may just be fooling around, which would still make those statements false, but still, it would be nice if you would still give him the benefit of the doubt.

The fact of the matter is, believe it or not, President Donald Trump is human. He is flawed. We are too. It is how we were made, and it is how we are always going to be. Donald Trump is trying his best, and we as a country getting on his case, knit picking every little detail of every action that he takes is not helping him at all. He represents us, much like we as a nation represent him. We should be helping him, and not hindering him. But hey, that is just my 2 cents, or at the very least, my 700 words.
